CAA Baseball/Softball is a division of the non-profit 501 (c) (3) Chanhassen Athletic Association and is committed to providing community-based, recreational and competitive baseball/softball programs for boys and girls ages 5 – 18 from the communities of Chanhassen and Victoria, and live within Chanhassen High School boundaries.
CAA Baseball Families,
Thank you for your patience as we worked through the team formation process. A significant amount of time and energy goes into this process, so a special thank you to everyone involved in bringing this together.
Final Rosters
The rosters for the 2026 Travel Baseball season have been officially posted. Please keep in mind that while these placements are for the upcoming 2026 season, they should not be interpreted as the definitive level your player will remain at in the future. All players develop at different rates (some faster than others), which is a key factor in determining their placement for the coming year. As young athletes grow, mature, and develop, we strive to place them on teams and levels where they can continue to improve their skills while achieving success.
Cooling-Off Period and Player-Specific Feedback
Once teams are announced, there will be a mandatory 72-hour cooling-off period. During this time, Player Agents and Directors of Baseball will not respond to any inquiries from families. This time is intended to allow for a thoughtful and respectful transition.
After the 72-hour period, families will have two weeks to contact the Player Agents and Directors of Baseball with questions specific to their player. Please understand:
Player Agents and Directors of Baseball are volunteers and part of the Chanhassen baseball family!
They do not select teams but assist coaches with questions during the selection process.
After the two-week window closes, no further communication will be accepted regarding team placements.
Information shared will only pertain to your individual player – no exceptions.
Refund of Registration Fee
Players who are not selected for a team at their age level will receive a refund, minus the tryout fee. However, those who were placed on a team but decide not to play baseball with CAA next year, for whatever reason, will not receive a refund. All refunds should be processed within 14 business days.
Other Baseball Opportunities
As mentioned before, for players not placed on a travel team, we will do our best to help identify other playing opportunities if they wish to continue playing. Options include joining our Southwest Metro Community program or participating in a blended travel team with another local association we partner with. If your son was not placed on a Travel team for 2026 but is still interested in playing baseball next summer, please reach out to the specific Travel Age Director for your son and indicate your preference. You can also contact them if you would like more information about the options before fully committing. Our goal is to find a team they can enjoy playing on while continuing to develop their skills.
Thank you, and we look forward to another successful baseball season in 2026!

Like many programs today, our travel baseball program has faced rising costs for umpires, uniforms, and tournament registration fees. The baseball board has carefully reviewed the budget and explored several options to avoid increasing the registration fee. After much consideration, the decision was made to remove pants from the baseball uniform package. We’ve received feedback from many families regarding issues with the pants, including concerns about style, fit, ect. With this change, we will not have to raise registration fee for travel baseball.
Moving forward, pants will be the responsibility of each family. They must still be white with a navy pinstripe down the side and can either be long pants or knickers. As in the past, families will still need to purchase navy belts and navy socks. We will be selling off our remaining stock of pants during the uniform tryout dates and will also host a Pants Sale at Scheels. Stay tuned for more details!
We’re excited to announce a fresh new direction for our 9U baseball program! This season, we’re offering two exciting options—read below for details:
9u Majors In-House Baseball
This season, we’re launching an enhanced in-house league that combines the excitement of competition with a strong emphasis on fun, skill development, and teamwork. Players will have the opportunity to compete in league games against teams from within our association, as well as a few from neighboring communities. Whether your player is stepping onto the field for the first time or already swinging for the fences, this updated program is designed to build confidence, foster friendships, and inspire a lifelong love of baseball.
9AA Travel Baseball
This season, our 9AA teams will begin competing in the Metro Baseball League (MBL), just like our 10U–15U teams. The season includes 14 weeknight league games, three tournaments, and the opportunity to qualify for two state tournaments. We will form as many 9AA teams as registration numbers allow, and all teams will be balanced to ensure equal skill levels. This program is for players who have a passion for baseball and want to play more games. Prior baseball experience is strongly encouraged.
1) In the past, this has been one program, do I register for both programs this year? No, you register for one program or the other.
2)When does it start? 9AA Travel - All of our travel teams start winter training end of January, with indoor practices starting end of March, league games start end of April. The state tournaments games are scheduled for weekends in July, and run till the end of July. 9 Majors (In-House) - Practices start in mid/late April, with games starting in early May.
3)Practices/Games- 9 Majors (In-House) - 9 Majors practices one night per week (Mon), with two games per week (Tue/Thur). Some games will be versus neighboring communities, including at their fields. 9AA Travel has one to two practices and one to two games per week.Plus weekends for minimum of three weekends. One is typically out of town.
Below is slide deck with TONS of info on tryouts and the 2026 tournament/metro teams.
Weather related cancellations will be posted on the CAA Diamond Sports Facebook page and sent via email by 4pm if Chanhassen & Victoria close the fields. After 4:00 PM if the cities have not closed the fields, it is up to the individual coaches to determine if a team practice/game should be held.Coaches can use their team page to send an email to their teams if necessary. If no notification is sent out, assume the practice or game is still on.
